Over the past decade, the entrepreneurial spirit in Wilmington has soared to new heights. This has led to an incredible wave of achievements that have firmly positioned our community on the global stage. The remarkable successes attained by entrepreneurs in this vibrant community have not only propelled Wilmington to the forefront of innovation and creativity but are also making a difference by solving big, bold problems. With an unwavering commitment to excellence and a relentless drive to succeed, the entrepreneurs of Wilmington have transformed the city into a thriving hub of innovation, inspiring countless others to join their ranks and contribute to the city's remarkable growth.
CIE has always been a partner of high-impact entrepreneurs and the community in leading this change. I'm excited to announce two new signature CIE programs that will be debuted in early 2024 that will continue to support these innovators:
Wilmington Founders Roundtable - This program is being launched to bring together founders in an engaging discussion to foster community in Wilmingtonโs startup ecosystem. The Wilmington Founders Roundtable aims to provide a collaborative and supportive environment for entrepreneurs to openly discuss their most urgent and pressing business challenges. This program is designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and networking among founders who are navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship. The Roundtable will be launched for CIE members, coworkers, and tenants in February 2024.
Idea Test Lab powered by Wells Fargo - CIE is launching Idea Test Lab, a cohort based, 4-week program designed to create an inclusive pipeline of high-growth entrepreneurs and startups in Southeastern North Carolina and to build resilience in founders. Idea Test Lab is powered by a generous gift from Wells Fargo. Idea Test Lab is an early-stage entrepreneurship course that enables founders to determine if there is business value in an idea. Each of the four sessions will focus on different entrepreneurial design topics such as value proposition, identifying the customerโs problem, competition, and market analysis. Each of the Labs will have a theme, such as Women in Tech or Blue Tech. Keep an eye out for applications and more details in the coming weeks!
Also, the N.C. Biotech Venture Challenge will be open soon, and it is time to apply for NC IDEA SEED and MICRO grants (submit by February 26 at 5 PM).
In addition to those programs and our on-going events and services, many of our wonderful programs will remain. Here's a list of some of them to check out (there's something for everyone!):

"A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.โ
